Pink is a world-renowned pop star with several big name
collaborations to her name, but that doesn’t mean she’s never felt
rejection. In fact, Mary J. Blige once turned her down for a duet.
Speaking with SiriusXM’s “Morning MashUp,” the Beautiful Trauma
songstress revealed the news. “I went in her trailer a long time ago, I
think it was when I hosted the Lady of Soul Train, or Soul Train
Awards,” she said. “I walked into her trailer and I was like, ‘Hi! Would
you ever work with me?’ She just took one look at me and she goes,
‘No.’ I go, ‘Okay. I love you, Mary. I’ll see you again.'”
No hard feelings for Pink, who said that she walked away
saying, “I like her style.” “That’s what I love about her,” she added.
“I respect it.”
Back in 2000, Pink co-hosted Soul Train’s annual Lady of Soul Awards with Shamar Moore and Mark Andrews.
This year, Mary unleashed her latest album, Strength of a Woman. Meanwhile, Pink has just unveiled her latest effort, Beautiful Trauma, featuring the Eminem-assisted “Revenge.”
