Angelina Jolie has publicly addressed her divorce from Brad Pitt for the first time.
In a sit-down interview with BBC World News ahead of the premiere of her latest film, First They Killed My Father, in Cambodia, Angelina fought back tears when talking about her now ex-husband.
Asked if she’d like to say something about her split and “an incident that occurred”
which brought on her divorce, the filmmaker answered: “I don’t want to
say too much about that, except that it was a very difficult time and we
are a family and we will always be a family.”
Angelina added that no matter what happens they will get through it and “hopefully be a stronger family for it.”
Angelina and Brad – who share six kids together – announced their split in September 2016. The former couple have since battled with custody arrangements of their children.
Ask
how she is coping, Angie acknowledged that is has been a “difficult
time” but said her first priority is her children and making sure the
whole process makes then stronger and brings them closer.
