The New York Daily News reports that Dr. Dre is being sued by Raquel Sagustume, a former housekeeper, over claims of bullying and harassment.
According to Sagustume, she was bullied by other housekeepers, including two who were cousins of Dr. Dre.
“Sagustume said the other staffers — two female cousins — felt threatened by her skill level and unfairly delegated their own work to her, causing her physical strain and injury,” the New York Daily News reports.
Despite receiving a $1,870 per week salary, the housekeeper says she wasn’t properly paid for overtime, missed meals, and was unable to use her earned vacation. She also claims that she was hospitalized following a panic attack that resulted from the bullying.
In her lawsuit, Sagustume places the blame on Dr. Dre and his wife, Nicole Young for not preventing the bullying. According to the woman, she still suffers from anxiety, depression, and stress from the 13 months she spent as a housekeeper for Dr. Dre.
